Supporting our Local “Planet”
This weekend one of our sponsors, Green Planet Grocery, is celebrating their 5 year Anniversary! It’s so nice to know that the need for a health conscious, natural, local and organic grocer is growing. Show your support by stopping in on Saturday or Sunday from 11 am – 5 pm (3514 W. Genesee St., across from Fairmount Fair). There will be a host of great local vendors to check out (our pals Recess Coffee, to name one!); goodie bags to take home, a free gift basket raffle, and grilling outdoors. Green Planet has also been nominated for Best Local Health Store on the Best of Syracuse 2015, along with other local favorites. Voting goes until September 20th at midnight. To cast your vote now, simply follow the link - http://www.syracusenewtimes.com/best-syracuse-2015/

The Forget-Me-Nots Chorus: 1 year later
In case you missed it, Francine shared the progress of the Forget-Me-Nots Chorus through a video at the DISHES dinner in February.
"As a community, we must work together to conquer dementia. We must be the leaders and look at aging straight in the face, doing all we can to help our seniors be as productive as possible, for as many years as possible. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for voting for my project."

Francine won the 2014 DISHES mini-grant for her project, the Forget-Me-Nots chorus. You, Syracuse, made this work possible. Thank you. Everyone is welcome to attend one of the upcoming concerts, on April 26th, or June 28th. And thanks for your incredible work in the community, Francine!

Craving More Local Fare? Try LOFO’s Valentine’s Day Dinner!
Today's DISHES dinner is
being prepared in collaboration with Abigail Henson - chef and owner of LOFO in
downtown Armory Square. This January, former DISHES Co-Chef
Luke Szabo joined farm-to-table forces with LOFO, helping to bring the most creative
and locally focused fare to downtown Syracuse. In typical LOFO fashion, this year's Valentine's Day menu includes options for gluten free, paleo and vegan diners while more traditional options shine with utmost emphasis on
supporting our region's farmers. If you find yourself craving real local fare after DISHES, this city's next best meal is at
the LOFO table!
To feast on dishes such as Sweet
Onion Kohlrapi Soup, Skaneateles Perch and Turf, and Kombucha Ginger Float*, book
your reservation online by visiting www.lofosyracuse.com.
Tickets are $50 per person with seating times available on February 13th
at 5:30 or 8 PM and February 14th at 6 PM.
*Full Menu available at www.lofosyracuse.com
